Grand Canyon - 2009

The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide and attains a depth of over a mile. The Colorado River and its tributaries cut channels through layer after layer of rock while the Colorado Plateau was uplifted. The course of the Colorado River was established through the canyon at least 17 million years ago.
We had visited before, for Denise's 40th birthday, but could only stay a few hours. This time we stayed overnight to enjoy the Sunset and Sunrise.
Unfortunately it wasn't the best weather, rather overcast, and it rained for a while, but even so we had a lovely time.
